The AR500 Armor Level IV Composite Trauma Plate is some of the most rugged, effective, and affordable armor in the industry, rated for up to .30-06 APM2 (armor piercing) rounds. These stand-alone plates require no backing or soft inserts to meet the threat level, and have a profile of just 0.75" thick! These remarkably light plates come in at just 7.5lbs each and feature a uniquely contoured design that conforms to the body, greatly improving wearer comfort. AR500 is utilizing a single panel ceramic strike face to maintain the best ballistic properties for higher level threats and a composite backing comparable to a traditional armor system, similar to what is currently issued to the military. As a finishing touch, these plates are coated with AR500's PAXCON protective coating which in conjunction with the Ceramic strike face, provides industry leading spall and fragmentation containment. The PAXCON coating also fully seals the plate from the elements, protecting the internal armor.
